February 17th 2003 - Blizzard hits Eastern Mid-Atlantic States. We get 25 inches total, with drifts as high as 3"ft. Well I've been askin for it for sometime now. I wanted this, I needed this. (I must confess to being a snow junkie!) This 25 inches of pure white happiness dumped right at my doorstep. Brought the neighborhood together and we all chipped in to help each other dig out of it. With our neighbors and us, we had three gas-powered snow blowers and about seven snow shovelers. Took us most of the day to dig out our entire street, but we finished it...Ahhhh! now its time for some home made bean soup and fresh Italian bread! |

Sidewalk picture looking east on our street. Thank God for Snow Blowers! (Especially the Gas Powered kind!) Just that one strip took two passes and a total of 6 minutes with a five and a half horse power snow blower. On top of the snow, this morning dropped about an inch or so of Sleet. Was like trying to dig out a sundae with magic freeze topping. |

One of the Township Plows came through once around 10am and we havent seen him since. He did a good enough job to allow us to get our cars out of the driveways so we could shovel and use the snow blower to get the driveways cleared. |
